Winters in the Puget Sound aren't rough like Michigan, for instance, but the dark dreary drizzle and unrelenting cold lasting as many months as they do can be emotionally crippling. I wonder--as I get older--if I'm not more prone to seasonal disorders than I originally thought. It's the only explanation that can reasonably explain the difference in how I feel about life right now--a couple weeks into spring--than I did a month ago when winter was still dragging its heels.
Spring really is all about renewal, and not just of the earth.
